About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to the older adult liaison team and specialist advice to the medical and surgical teams at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital NHS Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care for patients under the care of the liaison team
  • Work with the team leader to deliver clinical leadership and specialist advice
  • See older adult patients in the Emergency Department and wards of both hospital sites
  • Act as Responsible Clinician for any older adults detained to wards at either GSTT site
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists qualification in liaison psychiatry, home treatment or addictions
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
  • Experience in other relevant specialties such as inpatient psychiatry
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
  • Evidence for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within six months of gaining CCT in older adult psychiatry
  • Section 12 and Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £105,504 - £139,882 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits including a permanent contract and full-time working pattern.
