We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Practitioner to join our team in elective orthopaedics. The successful candidate will be a senior nurse with a strong background in trauma and orthopaedic care, and will be responsible for supporting the medical teams with the management of elective orthopaedic patients on the ward.
Main Responsibilities:- Support the medical teams with the management of elective orthopaedic patients on the ward.
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
- Participate in the education and training of junior staff members.
- Conduct holistic health assessments and make independent diagnostic decisions.
- Initiate prescribed treatments and medication, therapies, lifestyle advice, and care.
- Screen patients for early signs of disease and risk factors pertinent to their area of practice.
- Refer to other health professionals as appropriate.
- Discharge patients from hospital/services as required.
- Exercise risk management using professional judgement.
- 2 years minimum experience in orthopaedics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and critically analyse data and information.
- Ability to audit and contribute directly to the production of strategy and policy documentation.
- Positive mindset in respect of supporting organisational change, learning, and continuous development.
