Job Title: Advanced Practitioner - Elective Orthopaedics

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Practitioner to join our team in elective orthopaedics. The successful candidate will be a senior nurse with a strong background in trauma and orthopaedic care, and will be responsible for supporting the medical teams with the management of elective orthopaedic patients on the ward.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the medical teams with the management of elective orthopaedic patients on the ward.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the education and training of junior staff members.
  • Conduct holistic health assessments and make independent diagnostic decisions.
  • Initiate prescribed treatments and medication, therapies, lifestyle advice, and care.
  • Screen patients for early signs of disease and risk factors pertinent to their area of practice.
  • Refer to other health professionals as appropriate.
  • Discharge patients from hospital/services as required.
  • Exercise risk management using professional judgement.
Requirements:
  • 2 years minimum experience in orthopaedics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and critically analyse data and information.
  • Ability to audit and contribute directly to the production of strategy and policy documentation.
  • Positive mindset in respect of supporting organisational change, learning, and continuous development.
