Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at CV-Library. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for leading and undertaking electrical engineering design projects from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Electrical Engineering Design: Lead and undertake electrical engineering design projects, including production, design, and modification of schematics, loop drawings, cable routing, panel layout drawings, block cable diagrams, and motor starter panels.
  2. Electrical Functional Design: Design electrical functional systems, including control systems.
  3. Project Support: Support production and oversee the work of electrical installation engineers.
  4. Documentation: Draft scope of works, bill of materials, termination schedules, equipment data sheets, cables schedules, labeling schedules, proof testing documents, and cable transfer documents.
  5. Commissioning Support: Ensure as-built electrical documents are complete for factory acceptance testing.
Requirements
  1. Qualifications: Formal qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering, or similar, ideally to degree level or similar.
  2. Experience: Relevant experience (minimum 5 years) in industrial electrical engineering.
  3. Knowledge: Possess knowledge of electrical engineering and standards.
  4. Design Experience: Experience in designing electrical systems in accordance with IEC 61508 and IEC 61511.
  5. Functional Safety Assessments: Knowledge of functional safety assessments and SIL verification.
  6. Hazardous Areas: Experience in working in hazardous areas in compliance with ATEX and IECEx standards.
  7. Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  8. Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well within a multi-discipline design environment.
  9. Organizational Skills: Organizational and reporting skills.
  10. Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  11. Work Ethic: Strong work ethic with the ability to produce accurate work to strict project deadlines.
  12. Time Management: Ability to manage time and priorities individually and work well as a team.
Desired Skills
  1. PLC Programming: Working understanding of PLC programming and control logic.
  2. PLC Code Writing: Ability to write and interrogate PLC code.
  3. Complex Qualifications: Compex qualifications.
  4. Instrumentation Sourcing: Instrumentation sourcing and selection.
  5. Technical Reporting: Knowledge of writing technical reports according to validation procedures.
