Protec Fire Detection PLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Fire Sprinkler Project Engineer to join our growing team.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the successful execution of small-scale fire sprinkler installation projects from initial inquiry through final completion. You will work closely with the Small Works Manager, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in accordance with all relevant standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Oversee all aspects of small-scale fire sprinkler installations, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and on-site supervision.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, attending regular meetings to discuss project progress, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of fire sprinkler systems, relevant British Standards (e.g., LPC 12845, BS 8489, BS 9251), NFPA codes, and FM Global guidelines.
  • Team Leadership: Effectively lead and motivate on-site teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare comprehensive project reports, including progress updates, financial summaries, and handover documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • A proven track record in construction project engineering or management.
  • Experience within the fire sprinkler or water mist suppression industry is highly desirable.
  • A Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant British Standards and Regulations, including LPC 12845, BS 8489, BS 9251, NFPA, and FM Global.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
