Product Development Opportunity

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer or Development Engineer to join our team at Meridian Business Support. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative products for the Interiors sector. You will work closely with our design partners and operational team to create aesthetically pleasing products that meet our clients' needs.

  1. Develop new product ideas and concepts using your CAD design skills.
  2. Collaborate with our design partners to create innovative product solutions.
  3. Design and develop working prototypes for our design department, clients, sales, and operations.
  4. Produce 3 and 5 axis CNC drawings/programmes for manufacture.
  5. Maintain high standards of engineering drawings covering all required processes from component to product assemblies.
  6. Develop database content from single product structures to 'configurator' based information.
  7. Continuously review products for lean production, quality standards, and engineering improvements to drive profitability.
Requirements:

  1. A working knowledge of Inventor or Solid Works modelling software would be an advantage.
  2. 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing business working in product development, product engineering, or similar.
  3. Degree in Mechanical engineering, Product engineering, or similar.
  4. Experience in CNC 3 and 5 axis programming preferable.
  5. Knowledge of upholstery production and/or joinery preferable but not essential.
  6. Knowledge of Winman manufacturing or a similar MRP/ERP system would be beneficial.
  7. An understanding of modern manufacturing methods and Lean understanding.
