As a key player in the Product Architecture division, you will have the chance to significantly influence the product, platform, technology, and overall business by driving objectives through architectural foresight, guidance, and intervention.
Our architects are hands-on contributors, not just high-level strategists. They collaborate with engineers, product managers, UX designers, and customer representatives to identify obstacles in the product and explore new or enhanced components that could propel the future of our platform.
This is an individual contributor role that intertwines strategic and tactical elements, with a primary focus on delivering value to clients and the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze cross-functional business and product challenges and collaborate within the Product Architecture team to establish and promote a unified vision for our product and architectural goals.
- Participate in technical design review sessions across the software engineering organization, ensuring alignment with complementary initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Product and UX teams to guarantee that we are developing the right solutions at the right time.
- Experiment, research, and mitigate risks associated with innovative approaches that can eliminate or address barriers to product objectives.
- Contribute to the development of essential architectural and platform components that facilitate product delivery and enhance the efforts of individual product teams.
- Offer technical and product mentorship, guidance, and leadership to the broader team as one of its most seasoned members.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- A strong inclination towards Product Engineering, focusing on how architectural choices benefit the product, clients, and broader business objectives.
- Deep individual contributor expertise in at least one core technology area to elevate the team's technical standards, with sufficient experience to discern excellence from mediocrity.
- Practical experience in evolving platform architecture to enhance flexibility and introduce abstractions that support business growth.
- Familiarity with platform-wide enhancements for scalable growth of clinical data sources and hardware devices, along with real-world experience in graph databases and modeling.
- Experience in optimizing the customer/patient journey through effective tools and instrumentation.
- Proficiency across the technology stack, utilizing the most suitable technologies as needed, including:
- Event-driven Java microservices, with a preference for AWS managed services and distributed systems.
- Streaming/event-based architectures, such as Kinesis and Kafka.
- Streaming ETL, multi-source data mapping, data aggregation, and entity resolution.
- Native app platform architecture for iOS and Android, as well as hybrid applications.
- Extensive experience with Bluetooth-connected devices.
- Modern web application development, particularly with Angular.
- Knowledge of graph databases and innovative methods for managing interconnected data.
- Experience with remote learning systems or platforms that guide users through complex processes is a plus.
- Background in Bluetooth-connected medical devices is also advantageous.
