Job Title: Estimator

James Lambeth Limited is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in a regional civil engineering contractor specializing in sea and river defense and other civil activities.

Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing highly competitive, carefully resourced, and analyzed tender costs to ensure quality submissions to clients. This includes working on competitive bids, negotiated contracts, and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of company targets for new work and market trends.
  • Produce accurate and detailed estimates for tenders, taking into account all relevant factors, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure estimates are aligned with project requirements and company goals.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to gather data and information for estimates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in a civil engineering or construction industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and systems, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
