We are seeking an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our catering team at Bowhill Primary School. Key Responsibilities- Assist the Kitchen Manager in the planning, preparation, cooking, and serving of food to pupils, staff, and special events.
- Contribute to the operational efficiency of the kitchen, maximizing quantity and efficiency while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to oversee the food provision at Bowhill Primary and other schools within the Trust.
- Develop and implement effective systems to manage kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and prepare menus, ensuring variety, nutritional value, and dietary requirements are met.
- Manage and maintain kitchen equipment, supplies, and inventory, ensuring optimal use and minimizing waste.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality ingredients and equipment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of catering policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with Trust and school objectives.
- Participate in staff training and development, ensuring the kitchen team is equipped to provide excellent customer service and maintain high standards of food quality.
- Proven experience in a busy kitchen environment, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with the kitchen team and other stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, ensuring timely completion of tasks and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant catering qualifications to NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or willingness to undertake professional development.
- Full driving license and vehicle, with the ability to visit other schools within the Trust.
