Key Responsibilities
Rainbows Hospice is looking for a Band 4 Clinical Care Associate to become part of our Long-Term Ventilation and Step-Down Team. In this role, you will provide personalized care for infants, children, and young individuals facing various complex health challenges, including long-term ventilation through either invasive or non-invasive methods. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes Music Therapists, Complementary Therapists, and Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
Our hospice operates year-round, 24/7, necessitating a shift-based work schedule to ensure optimal service delivery.

At Rainbows Hospice, we facilitate the transition from hospital to home for medically stable children and young people who require long-term ventilation, preventing the need for prolonged stays in intensive or high-dependency care settings.

Role Expectations
As a Clinical Care Associate, you will uphold a high standard of nursing care within our small step-down team, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the care of children and young people (ages 0-25) under direct supervision.
- Empowering families to engage in all aspects of their child’s care.
- Collaborating with a Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in partnership with patients and their families.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must possess:
- Registration as a Nursing Associate on the NMC register.
- A Nursing Associate Foundation Degree.
- At least one year of post-registration experience in a relevant environment.
Experience Requirements
Essential qualifications include:
- Understanding and adherence to NMC professional standards.
- Knowledge of the Nursing Associate role within interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to seek guidance and escalate issues appropriately.
- Participation in reflective practice and understanding of NMC revalidation requirements.
- Commitment to following established procedures and treatment plans.
Desirable Skills
Candidates with knowledge of clinical governance and current issues related to hospice care and long-term ventilation will be favored.
