Job Summary:

Polypipe Building Services is seeking a skilled Assembly Supervisor to lead our Assembly team in delivering high-quality solutions to mechanical and public health engineers, M&E contractors, and local authorities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and leading the Assembly team to ensure all required accountabilities, outputs, and standards are achieved or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Organize and prioritize the team's workload to meet customer requirements, ensuring timely delivery of projects.
  2. Communicate effectively with the management team and team members to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  3. Participate in leadership and skills training courses to enhance your knowledge and skills.
  4. Manage personnel activities, including attendance, inductions, work groups, and overtime management, in accordance with company policy and procedure.
  5. Handle personnel issues related to performance management and team conflicts, using 1:1s, workgroups, coaching, and performance development reviews.
  6. Identify training gaps and work with the team to complete required skills training and tool box talks.
  7. Apply a culture of continuous improvement to enhance departmental KPIs and quality standards.
  8. Lead and supervise the team to maintain high levels of housekeeping within the Assembly areas.
  9. Support and encourage company and departmental initiatives, working closely with the Assembly Management team.
  10. Manage day-to-day personnel activities, including performance management and coaching conversations, while maintaining open communication with the Assembly Manager.
  11. Work with the Management team to achieve departmental and company objectives.
  12. Understand business requirements to manage performance and have a strong awareness of H&S and general housekeeping.
  13. Be willing to undertake relevant leadership training sessions and be computer literate, able to use the company system (IFS) or similar MRP systems.
