About the Role

The Commercial Advisor will play a key role in supporting contract management activities to ensure the financial and commercial interests of Babcock International Group are optimized. This will involve working closely with the contract management team to achieve financial targets and ensure that contractual obligations and associated risks are adequately managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with contract and change management across all phases of the acquisition cycle, including notices under the contract(s) and KPI assessment.
  • Attend risk reduction meetings and maintain change management registers.
  • Liaise with procurement to ensure consistency on terms and conditions flow down and risk mitigation.
  • Assist with approvals through internal governance as required within delegated authority limits.
  • Review terms and conditions in accordance with Babcock policies.
  • Monitor and interpret weekly and monthly project reports with the customer to ensure all actions are carried out as appropriate and matters are recorded.
  • Commercial lead on low-complexity contracts or framework agreements; internal and customer relationship management; conducting work in accordance with Babcock principles and behaviors.

Requirements

  • Experience in a commercial role within a company that is a prime contractor in a regulated environment such as defense, power, oil and gas, utilities, nuclear, construction.
  • Experience of change management, subcontract management, and management of contracts from contract award to contract closeout or bidding experience is highly desirable.
  • Commercially astute with an understanding of the procurement process.
  • Good communication, presentation, networking, and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify commercial risks, propose steps to mitigate, and communicate effectively.
  • Professional, positive, and supportive approach to both suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum A Level qualification.

Security Clearance

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
