Metadata Coordinator

This is a key role within the Library Services department, providing metadata services and supervising the daily operational workflow of stock selection, acquisition processes, cataloguing, and classification.

Our client is seeking the following experience:

• Experience of acquiring and developing e-book and print collections, with a focus on policies and licences for electronic content.
• Understanding of the Higher Education electronic publishing environment, content supply, licensing, and national and regional consortia.
• Experience of evaluating, analysing, and interpreting content usage to provide high-quality metadata services, informing service strategy, collection development, and budget planning.

The successful candidate will collaborate with staff members who interact with metadata as part of the content creation or content management process, advising on metadata policy and providing support.

Requirements:

• Education to degree level or equivalent in Library Science or a related subject area.
• Experience of driving projects associated with cataloguing operations in an academic library.
