About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Cost Engineering Manager to join our team at Forseven. As a key member of our Procurement department, you will be responsible for leading a team of cost engineers in managing the cost engineering function across various engineering functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 4-6 cost engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to meet the demands of our aggressive growth plans.
- Lead and upskill the team to ensure they are prioritizing workload effectively and delivering high-quality results.
- Ensure all cost engineering activities are aligned with the company's strategic objectives and are prioritized accordingly.
- Provide cost estimates to support business case decisions and analyze supplier QAF data to ensure value for money.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to quickly close gaps and clarify requirements, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing.
- Support and lead in cost validation and value for money exercises post-sourcing.
- Collaborate with the existing Cost Engineering Manager to develop the long-term strategy and cost engineering tool selection.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cost Engineering Manager in an automotive background, with a strong understanding of cost engineering principles.
- Ability to build credibility and confidence with stakeholders, including suppliers, colleagues, and senior management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities and adapt to a fast-paced business environment.
- Toolmaker or tooling experience, with the ability to negotiate with suppliers.
- Experience with multiple commodities and a willingness to create and develop a world-class cost engineering team.
