Position Overview

This is a full-time role designed for proficient radiographers with expertise in computed tomography.
With flexible hours spanning Monday through Sunday, numerous professional development avenues are available.

Key Responsibilities
The role involves participating in the departmental scheduling, including weekend shifts, after-hours duties, and on-call responsibilities.
Staff will be expected to operate in both the CT and general radiography departments.
Successful candidates will collaborate with students and assistant practitioners, with a mentorship program available to support student growth.
The position requires participation in the departmental rota, primarily at the designated hospital, with some responsibilities at other facilities during off-hours and weekends as needed. The trust aims to provide coverage across multiple hospitals and community health centers as required.

Job Duties
The successful candidate will assist in delivering a high-quality radiographic service within the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, adhering to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include performing all radiographic techniques and examinations to a consistently high standard, ensuring professionalism and efficiency in accordance with departmental protocols.
The role may involve undertaking specialized areas of practice as assigned by the site or modality lead.
Flexibility to work in any radiology department with appropriate notice is expected, including community hospitals. Participation in shift patterns to support a 24/7 service is required.
The candidate will exemplify compassionate and inclusive leadership, contributing to the development of a collaborative leadership culture within the trust. This entails demonstrating a leadership style that (a) engages, enables, and empowers colleagues, (b) utilizes coaching to foster ownership of learning and quality enhancement, and (c) promotes teamwork and collaboration across departments and organizational boundaries.
Essential Qualifications
- BSc in Radiography or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Specialist post-registration qualification in CT or equivalent experience.
- Completion of the departmental role extension program, including post-qualification training in intravenous cannulation, with demonstrated competency in administering intravenous injections. Proven expertise in specialist areas, including the full range of CT fluoroscopy and theatre procedures.
