Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeper/Kitchen Cover to join our team at Bright Horizons Elsie Inglis in Edinburgh. As a key member of our nursery team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our children, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the nursery is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
  • Perform daily laundry duties and maintain a clean and organized laundry area.
  • Respond to issues requiring confidentiality, such as personal information regarding children.
  • Support and promote policies and procedures, including COSHH guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with the nursery team to ensure the smooth running of the nursery day.
  • Be prepared to help with domestic tasks, such as supporting during meal times and cleaning equipment.
  • Ensure products and materials are appropriate for a nursery environment and stored and used in line with COSHH guidelines.
  • Take reasonable care of yourself and others, and comply with company Health and Safety guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working within the cleaning industry.
  • Experience of using cleaning products and equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • High standards of cleanliness and hygiene practices.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above or equivalent.
