About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Band 8a Cancer Services Pharmacist to join one of our specialized pharmacy teams in Bath. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to oncology patients.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in aseptic, oncology, and/or haematology within a secondary care setting. They will be responsible for providing a high-quality patient-focused aseptic service to patients in the Trust and associated hospitals.
The successful candidate will work closely with Aseptic Services Technicians and Senior Pharmacy Technicians to prioritise workload and day-to-day operation of SACT services. They will also ensure the safe, clinically effective, and cost-efficient use of drugs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a high-quality patient-focused aseptic service to patients in the Trust and associated hospitals.
- Support section managers in the provision of Aseptics and Clinical Trials services.
- Provide mentorship and support to band 6 pharmacists and monitor their progress while on rotation to section.
- Ensure the safe, clinically effective, and cost-efficient use of drugs.
- Act as an Authorised Pharmacist and supervise the day-to-day preparation of products, and their release for use in compliance with National & Local Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Work closely with Aseptic Services Technicians and Senior Pharmacy Technicians to prioritise workload and day-to-day operation of SACT services.
- Ensure PASU is operating in accordance with current legislation and guidance including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP), Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services, RPSGB Code of Ethics, Health and Safety, Medicines Act, COSHH and Departmental Procedures.
Requirements:
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Significant experience in aseptic, oncology, and/or haematology within a secondary care setting.
