Job Summary

The Projects Accountant will be responsible for tracking revenue and expenses on projects in the French and UK offices, identifying areas for cost savings, and preparing monthly financial reports for the Campbell Scientific France subsidiary.

This role will also involve managing financial functions such as payables, receivables, payroll, general ledger, and monthly management accounting for the French subsidiary, as well as assisting with budgeting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate project accounting records, including revenue recognition and cost allocation.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop project budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for the French subsidiary and ad hoc reports as required.
  • Oversee receipts, disbursements, and expenditures of money or capital assets of the French subsidiary.
  • Prepare monthly payroll files and supplier payments.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, including generally accepted accounting principles and financial policies of Campbell Scientific Inc.
  • Support external audits related to financial statements and project finances.
  • Collaborate with auditors and UK finance team to complete year-end audit activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in financial management.
  • Maintain a strong culture in accordance with Campbell Scientific's core values.
Requirements
  • 3 or more years' experience in a private industry finance environment.
  • Experience of project accounting and revenue recognition rules.
  • Senior level proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically in Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in local language; fluent in English (written and verbal), French language skills a benefit.
