Job Title: Assistant Horticulturist

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the Horticultural Team at the University of Cambridge as an Assistant Horticulturist for the western display areas of the Botanic Garden.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Care for the western display areas of the Botanic Garden, including the systematic beds, bee borders, and Mediterranean beds.
  • Assist the Senior Horticulturist in the maintenance, care, and curation of the Garden's nineteenth century landscape and later additions.
  • Participate in the planting and development of the western landscape area, which represents the 'Gardenesque' style of the time.
  • Collaborate with the Horticultural Team to ensure the collections are developed and maintained to a high standard.
Requirements:
  • Horticultural knowledge and practical experience are essential for this role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
