Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer Opportunity

Venn Group is working with a local authority in a London Borough to find a skilled Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer to join their team on a locum basis for an initial 3-month period, with the potential for long-term extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on Housing Law and provide representation when necessary
  • Collaborate with the authority on tenancy management issues
  • Conduct research on Housing Law, including general housing litigation, anti-social behaviour, and possessions
  • Liaise with stakeholders as appropriate
  • Advise officers and members in a proactive and sensitive manner
  • Mentor and train less experienced team members
  • Work efficiently under tight deadlines

Requirements:

  • Valid practising certificate in England as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX
  • Specialism in Housing Law and related legislation
  • Evidence of practising Housing Law post-qualification, particularly housing litigation, anti-social behaviour, and possessions
  • Experience working within local authorities or for a relevant public sector organisation
  • Adaptable approach to work, able to react to a constantly changing environment
