Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our team as an Activity Coordinator at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. As an Activity Coordinator, you will play a vital role in leading and encouraging patients to participate in meaningful activities that promote wellbeing and recovery while maintaining their choice and dignity.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a stimulating and varied program of activities and events on the ward to engage patients and promote their physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work with patients to understand their interests and preferences and provide a personalized approach to activity planning.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and other support workers to provide a balanced program that meets the needs of patients.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive ward environment that promotes patient engagement and participation.
Requirements
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain and improve knowledge, skills, and competence to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to use initiative appropriately.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassionate values and behaviors needed for dignified care.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • National Care certificate or commitment to complete as part of induction process.
  • Previous experience in activities/music therapies/crafting skills.
  • Experience with the elderly.
