Role Overview

School Psychology Consultant

Key Requirements

  • Applicants should be prepared to conduct a minimum of four evaluations monthly.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required for contractor eligibility.
  • Possession of a Doctorate or Master's degree in Educational Psychology or an equivalent qualification is essential.
  • Submission of two anonymized reports alongside the CV is mandatory.
  • All submitted reports will undergo review and critique as part of the role.

Role Responsibilities

  • Enhance the educational experiences of children and young people, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN), by:
  • Offering psychological insights and guidance to SEN services and educational professionals for individuals aged 0 to 25.
  • Providing psychological support and advice to families, schools, and communities.
  • Engaging in collaborative support efforts across various agencies for children and young people.

Daily Duties

  • Serve as a consultant on psychological issues for parents, educators, and other professionals involved with children and young people.
  • Collaborate with the Education and Inclusion team to enhance school performance.
  • Document and maintain comprehensive records of assessments and consultations.
  • Deliver statutory advice to local authorities in alignment with the SEN code of practice.
  • Be prepared to represent the local authority at SEN and disability hearings as necessary.
