About the Company

Harcourt Matthews is a prominent UK specialist in Business Services and Investment Partnerships, dedicated to delivering projects and services across a diverse array of Public Private Partnership investments. As the company continues to grow and develop its investment portfolio, we are excited to announce a newly established position for an Investment Valuation Analyst. This role is ideal for a 2:1/1st class graduate with 1-3 years of relevant analytical experience and robust Excel modelling capabilities. The successful candidate will provide essential analytical support from both project and portfolio perspectives.

Key Responsibilities of the Investment Valuation Analyst


• Conduct quarterly updates of project and fund models, including the production of discounted cash flow valuations and internal rates of return (IRRs).


• Review modelling input assumptions and present well-founded recommendations for adjustments.


• Lead the development of valuation reporting packs for pertinent funds.


• Perform research on political and economic factors impacting the portfolio, while reviewing and compiling insights from the broader team.


• Assist with investor, debt, and regulatory reporting obligations.


• Support the external audit processes of individual funds and liaise with independent valuation advisors.


• Collaborate with the asset management team to identify and model opportunities for value enhancement.


• Work alongside fund managers to assist with dividend cover analysis and broader fund management activities.


• Monitor announcements from peer-listed funds and summarize key findings for the team.


• Present quarterly valuation outcomes to senior stakeholders within the organization.


• Review analyses conducted by other team members to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.

Skills & Attributes of the Investment Valuation Analyst


• A university graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree from a reputable institution.


• 2-4 years of post-university experience in a relevant role, particularly within the renewable energy sector.


• Strong financial modelling expertise, enabling the understanding, review, evaluation, and management of financial models.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical financial information clearly and concisely.


• A collaborative team player who values building strong connections across various teams.


• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of meeting regular deadlines.


• Proficient report writing skills, capable of producing concise and clear documents for both internal and external stakeholders.


• Keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of work.
