Position Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Birmingham City Centre

Core Working Hours: 6:00am - 3:00pm & 11:00am - 8:00pm on a rotating shift schedule, with a requirement to work one weekend every four weeks.

Role Summary:
We are looking for a skilled electrical technician to become a vital part of our operational team.

Your primary responsibility will be to conduct scheduled preventative maintenance (PPM) and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems within a retail environment.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute planned and reactive maintenance tasks as directed by the Contract Manager.
2. Engage in troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment.
3. Carry out various non-specialized maintenance tasks related to building fabric.
4. Update the computerized maintenance management system with completed PPM tasks.
5. Uphold engineering standards to enhance the efficiency and reliability of systems and equipment.
6. Coordinate with specialized subcontractors for both PPM and reactive maintenance.
7. Adhere to company quality assurance and site protocols at all times.
8. Follow health and safety regulations as outlined in company policies.
9. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all maintenance activities.
10. Assess the condition of services and respond to repair requests as needed.
11. Be available for site emergencies outside of standard working hours.
12. Perform maintenance tasks in various environments, including elevated areas, with provided access equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
13. Ensure all company-issued tools are maintained in a safe and functional condition.
14. Contribute positively to the ongoing success of the contract.
15. Comply with health, safety, and environmental guidelines as specified in site documentation.
16. Complete any additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills:
- City & Guilds/NVQ - Part 1 & Part 2 in Electrical Installation/Maintenance or equivalent qualifications.
- 18th Edition IEE certification.
- 2391 Test & Inspect qualification.
- Experience in a commercial or retail property maintenance environment.
