We are seeking an Electrical Reliability Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will oversee assigned electrical and software reliability initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include investigating failures, identifying root causes, and proposing solutions. These design changes will be documented in CAD systems and thoroughly reviewed to ensure compliance with vehicle specifications. Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of electrical reliability projects by identifying root causes, developing design updates, and engineering and testing modifications to electrical systems, ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Work independently or collaboratively on complex projects.
  • Utilize your problem-solving skills to identify root causes and propose effective engineering solutions.
  • Implement design updates using CAD systems (3D/Solid Edge/E3/Teamcenter) and manage BOM/parts effectively, ensuring alignment with senior engineers.
  • Investigate issues, coordinating containment, service resolutions, and production fixes.
  • Ensure design initiatives align with common systems interfaces and standards, promoting part reuse and modular design principles.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems across our product range, focusing on key vehicle models.
  • Collaborate across various functions to validate and implement design updates, particularly engaging with engineering design, testing, and aftermarket service teams.
  • Engage directly with internal and external clients to provide safe, reliable, and well-supported solutions.
  • Adhere to relevant internal and global standards, best practices, and regulations.
  • Achieve project milestones while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate activities with internal and external partners or suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets for each project.
  • Travel as needed to support client inquiries, assess issues, gather test/reliability data, and validate solutions.
  • Conduct data analysis as required to support investigation and resolution efforts.

Qualifications

  • HNC or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field, with a Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, ideally within the automotive sector, focusing on Electrical/Systems engineering.
  • Proficiency in 3D and electrical CAD tools, particularly Solid Edge and E3.
  • Experience in vehicle manufacturing, design, or automotive aftermarket, with knowledge of electric vehicles as a significant advantage.
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications.
  • Thorough understanding of vehicle electrical systems and controls, including experience with 24V/high voltage systems.
  • Experience integrating electrical systems to deliver reliable improvements.
  • Proven ability to manage structured project delivery using reliability project management methodologies, tracking actions and project progress against plans.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills using 8D methodology or similar approaches.
  • Genuine interest in vehicle technology and industry developments.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • A collaborative team player, committed to delivering sustainable solutions.
