Job Summary

The East Lothian Council is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to assist in the delivery of the School Crossing Service throughout East Lothian. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe passage of students across busy roads, in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and Council policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the safe movement of students across roads, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor and report any safety concerns or incidents to the relevant authorities.
  • Collaborate with other Council departments to ensure effective delivery of the School Crossing Service.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and Council policies and procedures.

Working Hours

The successful candidate will be required to work a 38-week sessional post, with hours of work during school term time only. The specific days and hours of work will be discussed during the interview process.
