This role is integral to the KBR Directory and Cloud Services as well as the Enterprise Security Operations teams. The selected candidate will be required to support projects aligned with the UK Ministry of Defence. Under general supervision, this position is accountable for the performance and outcomes of a specific discipline or subgroup within the organization. Responsibilities include achieving the functional objectives of Directory and Cloud services as outlined below, contributing to the development of functional strategies, and potentially overseeing global processes and procedures.
- Oversee Active Directory management, including Group Policy, Organizational Unit Structures, Sites and Services, Trusts, and DNS.
- Utilize networking knowledge to diagnose connectivity issues, including firewall policies, and demonstrate familiarity with network tracing tools such as Wireshark.
- Provide support for the internal PKI infrastructure, including certificate issuance and templates, and assist application teams with their certificate needs.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements in the UK and other regions, including Cyber Essentials/Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO27001.
- Collaborate with IT teams to manage KBR's cloud computing environments, encompassing Microsoft Azure/Office 365, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and others.
- Deliver operational support for cloud directories, including Azure AD.
- Design and implement security policies, such as Conditional Access, to safeguard cloud environments.
- Work with endpoint management teams to deploy policies using Microsoft Intune for PCs, mobile devices, and other endpoints.
- Utilize scripting tools, such as PowerShell, for managing both on-premises and cloud directories.
- Assist in KBR's Zero Trust remote access security initiatives.
- Support internet access management through on-premises proxy servers and cloud proxy/URL filtering solutions.
- Engage collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organization, including external auditors, process owners, functional management, and business stakeholders.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of organizational processes, goals, and strategies.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing existing processes and controls, recommending constructive corrective actions to address control deficiencies identified through compliance audits, thereby strengthening the cybersecurity posture and improving operational processes.
This role necessitates extensive knowledge of Microsoft core platform technologies, as well as familiarity with IT enterprise directory services technologies and standards, including software and hardware lifecycle management, system and security configuration policies, hardening, AD, DNS, PKI, DHCP, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery.
Experience and understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging trends are essential for promoting long-term cloud adoption with appropriate security measures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Azure AD, and AWS, supporting security governance and technologies, is required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A completed undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems.
- A significant number of years' experience in architecting, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft infrastructure and security technologies, with a focus on Directory Services or IT Security Network experience.

Demonstrated advanced working knowledge in architecting, installing, configuring, administering, managing, and troubleshooting Microsoft core platform technologies, including all security components associated with Active Directory and Microsoft cloud security and infrastructure services. Experienced in troubleshooting perimeter and endpoint system security technologies.
