About Us:

Green Cat Hydrogen Limited (GCH) is a forward-thinking and pioneering developer in the green hydrogen sector. Our focus lies in the implementation of electrolytic hydrogen initiatives as a vital component of the global energy transition and decarbonization efforts. We collaborate closely with affiliated companies throughout the planning, permitting, engineering, design, and construction phases of green hydrogen projects.

We are on the lookout for a driven and skilled Junior Project Engineer with an engineering background to assist in the successful execution of various green hydrogen initiatives and engage throughout the complete project lifecycle. The selected candidate will have the chance to work on innovative projects, acquiring invaluable experience in the hydrogen and renewable energy fields while supporting our seasoned project engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the multi-disciplinary design development, encompassing chemical, mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation, control, and automation disciplines, ensuring the successful execution of green hydrogen projects.
  • Help prepare essential project documentation, including equipment specifications, technical drawings, and stage gate reports.
  • Participate in project meetings and promptly complete assigned follow-up tasks.
  • Collaborate closely with the internal GCH team to ensure effective support from other departments.
  • Coordinate and manage external resources and activities, such as site surveys.
  • Assist in formulating project cost estimates.
  • Support the development of project timelines.
  • Engage with equipment suppliers and offtakers.
  • Conduct project procurement activities, including issuing requests for information and quotations, and assist in formal tendering processes.
  • Support the commissioning of newly installed equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental standards during project activities.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to remain updated with industry trends and technologies.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A degree in engineering (e.g., chemical, mechanical, electrical) or a related discipline.
  • A strong academic background showcasing technical proficiency and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with multidisciplinary groups.
  • Willingness to travel to sites as necessary, supported by a valid UK driving license.
  • Legal right to work full-time in the United Kingdom indefinitely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant work experience in an engineering or project role (up to 2 years).
  • Knowledge or experience with renewable energy technologies and/or project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, or PMI).
  • Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Active membership in recognized engineering institutions or societies.
