Service Engineer - Fire & Security

Location: Devon / Cornwall

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: up to £40,000

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Service Engineer to join our expanding team at a leading UK Fire & Security company. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, commissioning, and installing fire alarm and associated systems in compliance with current regulations.

  • Perform routine servicing of fire alarm systems efficiently and in line with company quality standards.
  • Conduct necessary repairs, maintenance, and minor installations at customer premises.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations during working hours and support the out-of-hours rota as needed.
  • Operate in accordance with health and safety requirements and company policies.
  • Attend and engage in company training sessions and identify any further personal training needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independent working ability with strong planning and implementation skills.
  • Proficient in fault diagnosis and rectification of fire alarm systems.
  • Technical knowledge of fire alarm systems, including BS5839 Pt:1, BFPSA Training, basic electrical safety, and manufacturers' equipment training.

Requirements:

  • Relevant training and certifications in fire alarm systems.
  • Knowledge of cable types and containment systems related to fire detection and alarm systems.
