Career Legal is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join one of the UK's top 100 law firms. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of accounts payable processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Invoice Processing: Post supplier invoices and verify that they have been correctly coded to the general ledger, liaising with approvers as necessary.
- Disbursement Management: Post disbursement costs to matters, including Counsel fee notes.
- Expense Management: Authorize and process staff expenses through Concur, our online expenses system.
- Payment Processing: Process ad hoc payment requests daily and weekly supplier payment runs via BACS.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile supplier account statements and Counsel fee notes.
- Customer Service: Respond to staff and supplier queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Account Maintenance: Review and maintain account payable ledger balances.
- Leadership and Training: Assist the accounts payable manager in a senior capacity, providing leadership and training as required.
- Project Ownership: Take ownership of certain account payable tasks and projects, seeing them through to completion.
- Technical Skills: Aderant or Elite knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
- Legal Finance Experience: Previous legal finance experience is necessary.
- Leadership Experience: Previous senior or supervisory experience would be beneficial.
- Software Skills: Excel knowledge is useful.
- Soft Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage workload, good attention to detail, well-organized, team player with a flexible and willing attitude, and good interpersonal skills.
