You will also support the development of the overarching strategy for the EIS pillar and understand how we use the Make, Partner, or Buy model for growth.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Developing the strategy roadmap for the EIS pillar alongside the wider strategy team
  • Acting as a conduit to translate problem statements and capability gaps/opportunities from the pillar to feed back into the strategy development
  • Leading the strategy associated with each investment project and gaining support internally across a range of senior stakeholders
  • Leading target selection work
  • Maintaining an accurate issues and risk log interface with key external stakeholders
  • Own and deliver the project plans for M&A work
  • Securing and managing budget for M&A projects
  • Supporting the Head of M&A with deal negotiations and deal structure decisions
  • Leading the integration planning through a robust 100-day plan
  • Responsible for the audit trails of all M&A activity
  • Creating sign-off packs and papers for the UK Board and Group
  • Providing support and counsel, enabling decisions with multi-£m resource implications (CAPEX/OPEX)
Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Previous experience in project and budget management
  • Previous experience working within M&A
  • Commercial acumen, including the ability to understand and evaluate basic financial modeling (e.g., NPV, payback, IRR, and financial business cases)
  • A successful track record of leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability and experience of working closely and collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the business and external partners
  • Strong presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to think strategically, work on own initiative, under pressure, and meet deadlines - effectively managing the demands of a highly pressurized environment
  • Strong level of understanding of the current solutions markets, current competitor propositions, and a broad overview of new emerging technologies across the EIS Pillar
