Job Overview

RINA is seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Consultant to join its team in Brighton, UK. As a key member of our Consulting Country UK Division, you will be responsible for delivering Independent / Owner's Engineering services on wind and solar projects worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Independent / Owner's Engineering field, gained through consultancy work, due diligence consultancy work, and/or work for contractors or developers. This opportunity will enable you to work with RINA teams across the globe, stretching your technical and consultancy skills.

Responsibilities
  • Managing Independent / Owner's Engineering projects for solar and wind developers, including hybrid projects with energy storage and/or diesel generation.
  • Providing technical engineering support at all stages of the project development cycle.
  • Reviewing project design, contractual documentation, environmental studies, planning permission, health and safety reports, grid offers, and grid connection agreements.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical and non-technical reports.
  • Managing contractors and construction projects.
  • Leading commercial activities such as proposal writing and client presentations.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience working in the sector for a technical consultancy, project developer, or IPP.
  • Consultancy experience working on Independent / Owner's Engineering and/or due diligence assignments.
  • Project management experience and capability to lead a project team.
  • Engineering degree (or relevant technical degree).
  • Strong practical knowledge, both technical and commercial, of how renewable energy assets are developed, constructed, operated, and financed.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of at least one technology from onshore wind and solar PV.
