Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Essex and surrounding areas

Salary: £60k + package

Company: ARC Group, a leading provider of maintenance services for residential and commercial properties, is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial aspects of our projects.

Job Description: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cost control strategies to ensure that projects are delivered within budget. You will manage and reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts, ensuring that all expenditure is properly controlled and monitored.

  • Conduct financial assessments to identify areas for improvement
  • Monitor and report on day-to-day cost control activities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and identify potential issues
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Desirable Experience:
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in the residential new build and social housing sector
  • Knowledge of reactive and planned maintenance
  • Comprehensive understanding of subcontractor procurement and cost management
  • Experience with Schedule of Rates, subcontractor management, valuations, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of building regulations and Health & Safety legislation
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience
  • BSc Degree in Quantity Surveying would be an advantage
  • Previous experience of pricing planned work and/or repairs and maintenance
  • Proven commercial professional with experience in social housing reactive maintenance and repairs
  • Experience of SOR codes
  • Understanding of the CVR process
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and contractual awareness
  • Negotiating, communication and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
  • Full valid UK driving licence
