Principal Planner (Team Leader – Development Management)

We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Principal Planner to lead our Development Management team in King's Lynn and West Norfolk. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of planners, providing expert advice on development management, and making sound judgements on complex planning applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of planners in the management of development applications
  • Provide expert advice on development management and planning policy
  • Make sound judgements on complex planning applications
  • Develop and implement planning strategies to achieve the council's objectives

Requirements:

  • RTPI membership and a minimum of five years' post-qualification experience in development management
  • Proven leadership and management skills, including coaching and developing a team
  • Ability to provide sound advice and judgements for a range of audiences
