Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join our highly rated Family Department at QED Legal in Coventry. Our client enjoys a regular flow of work from the local area and across the Midlands, and we are looking for a hardworking individual to take on an existing caseload.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handling care proceedings, including representing clients in court and providing advice on the best interests of children.
  • Assisting with Emergency Protection Orders (EPOs) and Wardship/Fostering/SGOs cases.
  • Providing expert advice on social care and care planning, including representing clients in court and negotiating with local authorities.
  • Representing clients in court and providing advice on matters relating to the care of vulnerable children, including child protection cases.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years PQE in Childcare Law.
  • Excellent client care skills and the ability to deal with vulnerable clients and resolve sensitive, and often complex matters.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and local authorities.
What We Offer:
  • A highly competitive salary of £38,000-£50,000 depending on experience.
