EPC Manager – Renewable Energy Projects


Our client, CLIMATE 17, is a prominent independent power producer specializing in renewable energy generation through wind, solar, hydro, biomass, and energy storage projects.

In addition to developing and originating renewable energy initiatives, they also serve as a global distributor of equipment and provide operations and maintenance services.

They are currently in search of a seasoned EPC Manager to supervise the construction of renewable energy projects throughout the UK, particularly focusing on large-scale solar installations across the country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the project during the preparation phase (Pre-NTP), which includes defining the site team, reviewing and validating documentation, and procuring all necessary equipment and subcontractors.
  • Manage the implementation of one or multiple utility-scale PV Solar plants throughout their lifecycle, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Ensure that all work is conducted with consideration for local communities and environmental impact.
  • Achieve project completion on schedule, within budget, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance.
  • Take full responsibility for all project control processes, including cost management, contract oversight, and scheduling.
  • Lead project team members across various functions (engineering, procurement, construction, contract management, HSE) and liaise with internal departments (finance, asset management, etc.).
  • Effectively communicate project progress and potential alternative strategies to stakeholders to address any deviations.
  • Collaborate with development and project finance teams to identify and resolve potential conflicts arising from differing areas of focus (permitting and funding).
  • Establish cost reporting and key performance indicators (KPIs) for project oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding health, safety, and environmental standards.


Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in Engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, etc.) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience with medium to large-scale projects, ideally within the energy sector.
  • Strong background in Contract, Risk, and Procurement Management.
  • Proficient in project controls, including cost management, contract oversight, and scheduling.
  • Solid knowledge of planning software (e.g., Project, Primavera).
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Experience in cost control, including preparing accurate project estimates and establishing cost reports.
  • Knowledge of HSE & Quality Management, ensuring compliance with client policies and procedures.
