Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Teacher of Mathematics to join our team at Phoenix Learning & Care Group. As a Lead Teacher of Mathematics, you will be responsible for leading and managing the mathematics curriculum, developing and implementing instructional strategies, and providing guidance and support to teachers and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement mathematics curriculum and instructional strategies that align with the school's goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to teachers and students in mathematics education.
- Lead and manage the mathematics department, including planning, teaching, and assessing learning.
- Monitor and record student progress, including academic and EHCP outcomes.
- Work closely with pupils, keeping them engaged, motivated, and inspired to reach their full potential.
- Work with teaching assistants to direct them in effectively supporting pupils.
- Support team members with the delivery of mathematics across the school and have oversight of the subject as a whole.
Requirements:
- Ability to teach mathematics to Level 2 (GCSE/Functional Skills).
- Patience, compassion, and resilience – the pupils you teach will be neurodiverse, which can impact their learning behavior and communication needs.
- A driving license – our pupils love to learn in a wide range of settings.
- A genuine interest in a career focused on the education of people with a wide range of needs.
