The Mechanical Support Engineer will serve as the onshore focal point, ensuring that all Mechanical related support issues are addressed and that the appropriate technical support is provided to the operations teams onshore and offshore.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Mechanical Support: This may entail extended offshore visits as and when required.
- Generate Work Scopes and Estimates: Compile detailed cost estimates and work packs for offshore implementation.
- Expertise in Mechanical Equipment: Provide knowledge and expertise in all aspects of specific types of mechanical equipment, fabricated equipment, materials handling equipment.
- Operational Support: Provide operational and specialist Mechanical support to modification or study teams or projects in line with the BAB technical management of change procedure.
- Budget Management: Assist in setting budgets which are realistic, manage expenditure for all work scopes within the limits of those budgets, demonstrating appreciation of commercial and technical risks, managing this appropriately within own work and highlighting any significant issues.
- Sub-Contractor Management: Manage Sub-Contractors and suppliers ensuring supporting vendors and suppliers comply with company standards i.e. Safety Management, Quality Management and Corporate Social Responsibility.
- Technical Development: Remain up to date with the latest technical developments in your field and expertise.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Interface with other relevant disciplines to ensure technical integrity of design is maintained.
- Deliverables: Support and produce the assigned discipline deliverables within designated time frames.
- Safety Reviews: Participate in and contribute to various Safety Reviews related to the projects, i.e. HAZID, HAZOP etc, and close out assigned actions in a timely manner.
- Vendor Technical Reports: Review various vendor technical reports as required ensuring any follow up work is actioned.
- Equipment Inspection: Assist with inspection of equipment and attendance at Factory Acceptance Tests as required.
- Equipment Specifications: Maintain Mechanical Equipment Specifications, Standards and Procedures and be the local point of contact for the Mechanical equipment and their application on Kraken.
- Standards and Procedures: Maintains Mechanical Standards and Procedures and be the local owner of appropriate Mechanical management procedures.
- Long-term Facility Planning: Provide input and support long-term facility modification and maintenance plans/programs to ensure cost effective operation and asset integrity throughout the FPSO lifetime.
- Technical Integrity Audits: Carry out technical integrity audits on mechanical systems and work management as part of the Technical Audit programme.
- Corporate Targets: Meeting the corporate targets set for the company.
- Safety Acumen: Propels high safety acumen with regards to FPSO facility daily operations.
- Safety Performance: Lead and participate in a proactive safety performance and KPl's and provide appropriate input to the Kraken Process Safety management system.
- Incident Investigations: Participate in equipment failure investigations and incident investigations as required.
- Compliance: Ensures compliance with the Company's Safety, Health, Security and Environmental Management Systems for all assets/facilities are met within areas of own responsibility.
- Support Services: Ensures that all requirements, deadlines, and support services for FPSO Operations, Construction, Maintenance and Materials are met and carried out by offshore personnel.
- Safety Focus: Ensures a significant focus on safety with regards to the FPSO facility daily operations.
- Collaboration: Influence and collaborates with the asset leadership teams and all other relevant stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Perform effectively within a strong peer group and to drive forward optimal business solutions.
- Self-Motivation: Demonstrate self-motivation, strong personal leadership and drive toward teamwork.
- Additional Tasks: Performs any other reasonable tasks as required to support operations commensurate with training, experience and ability.
