Job Overview
Citi is committed to strengthening its governance and control framework by developing the Institutional Credit Management (ICM) function, which is designed to oversee and standardize credit risk activities within its Institutional Client Group. The primary aim of ICM's Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) is to deliver comprehensive credit underwriting, identification, measurement, management, and monitoring for wholesale credit risk across the organization. The CCR Underwriting team plays a crucial role in analyzing, approving, and monitoring credit across various wholesale credit sectors, including Banking, Capital Markets, Advisory, Global Structured Products, and Treasury Services.
The Credit Risk Manager will be integral to the global CCR underwriting team, dealing with a diverse range of products such as subscription call facilities, Fund Financing, FX, Derivatives, Prime Brokerage, and structured lending. The ideal candidate will possess experience in managing alternative investment managers, including Hedge Funds, Private Equity, and Institutional Family Offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing transaction risks across the organization, covering a wide array of complex financial products.
- Ensuring excellence in analysis, underwriting, and monitoring while promoting global consistency across different regions.
- Taking charge of the Credit Approval Memo (CAM) process, generating risk ratings, and performing quality control of the CAM/Risk Rating Scorecard.
- Negotiating credit structures and documentation, including ISDA agreements, Derivatives Clearing, and Prime Brokerage documents.
- Demonstrating strong expertise in Derivatives and structured lending.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key clients in Banking and Risk sectors.
Client Engagement and Business Collaboration:
- Proven ability to navigate local market nuances, regulations, and competitive practices.
- Delivering well-reasoned assessments of risk/return trade-offs related to transactions and client relationships.
- A history of collaborating with global peers to leverage and implement best practices.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Strong understanding of capital markets products and complex financing structures.
- Extensive experience in counterparty credit risk within banking or financial institutions, particularly with alternative investment counterparties.
- Upholding strong ethics and integrity in all dealings.
- Demonstrating flexibility and strong communication skills.
- Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and within tight timelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with active listening capabilities.
- Proficient presentation skills, capable of effectively engaging various audiences.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Risk Management, focusing on Hedge Funds, Private Equity, and Institutional Family Offices.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; Master's degree preferred.
