Nuclear QA/QC Engineer Job Description

NES Fircroft Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA/QC Engineer to join their team for a major nuclear project based in Surrey. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and compliance of all project activities, particularly focusing on nuclear projects, power plants, and turbine generators.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and Implement QA/QC Plans: Create and implement quality assurance and quality control plans and procedures for the project, ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Conduct Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure that all project activities meet quality and safety standards.
  3. Oversee Quality Control Processes: Oversee the quality control processes for nuclear projects, power plants, and turbine generators, ensuring that all activities meet quality and safety standards.
  4. Prepare Quality Documentation: Prepare and review quality documentation, including inspection and test plans, quality plans, and reports.
  5. Coordinate with Project Teams: Coordinate with project teams to ensure that quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  6. Manage Non-Conformance Reports: Manage non-conformance reports and corrective actions, ensuring that all quality issues are resolved promptly.
  7. Ensure Quality Control Documentation: Ensure that all quality control documentation is compiled and completed for final handover.
  8. Participate in Plant Preparation: Participate in plant preparation, outage work, and repairs, ensuring that all activities meet quality and safety standards.
  9. Liaise with Clients and Contractors: Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Proven Experience in QA/QC Roles: Proven experience in QA/QC roles within nuclear projects, power plants, and turbine generators.
  2. Strong Understanding of Quality Assurance: Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles and practices.
  3. Experience in Plant Preparation: Experience in preparing plant, outage work, and repairs.
  4. Familiarity with Industry Standards: Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  5. Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to Work Effectively: Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  7. Relevant Engineering Degree: Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.

Additional Information:

  1. This position is inside IR35, and the contract will be for 12 months.
  2. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
