About the Role

We are seeking a talented Electrical Project Engineer to contribute to innovative projects in the renewable energy sector. As a key member of our team, you will provide design, installation, and commissioning expertise to our in-house construction team and EPC contractor for the delivery of a 1GW pipeline of Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects, ranging from 5MW to 70MW.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop electrical requirements for solar and energy storage systems, review and approve designs
  2. Standardize design and equipment across projects
  3. Conduct on-site inspections and factory witness testing for compliance with specifications
  4. Review as-built drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness
  5. Review energisation plans and procedures
  6. Lead the full commissioning of all equipment with electrical responsibility and safety
  7. Prioritize Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
  8. Oversee electrical handover into operations
  9. Create commissioning checklists and ensure project delivery on time and within scope
  10. Incorporate lessons learned into future projects
Requirements
  1. Degree/HND in electrical engineering
  2. Expertise in Low Voltage and High Voltage systems, particularly for large-scale solar and energy storage systems
  3. Project engineering experience on large projects
  4. Experience in a safety-driven industry, preferably power generation or utilities
  5. Ability to challenge costs, technical solutions, and schedules
  6. Flexibility in work location and hours to meet business objectives
  7. Commitment to quality and 'right-first-time' solutions
  8. Experience with codes of practice and national/international standards
  9. Flexibility to work across various systems
