Job Title: Yard Shunter/Driver
Job Overview:
We are seeking a responsible and dependable Yard Shunter/Driver to join our transportation team at Venatu Recruitment Group. A Class 1 License is required in the event that a Heavy Goods Vehicle will need redeploying to another local depot or transporting to the Garage for servicing and MOT's.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vans to transport goods between designated depots, following established routes and schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the van to ensure it is in good working condition and report any mechanical issues or damage to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while driving, including speed limits, hours of service, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience driving vans or similar vehicles in a commercial or industrial setting.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles in various weather conditions and environments.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate documentation and timely deliveries.
