About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Drama Teacher to join our team at a reputable secondary school in North Yorkshire. As a Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and creative lessons that inspire students to explore their artistic abilities, develop confidence, and foster teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Delivery: Deliver inspiring drama lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, ensuring all students are challenged and engaged.
  • Student Progress: Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Lead or contribute to school drama productions, clubs, and other extra-curricular activities to further enrich students' experiences.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the Performing Arts department and across the school to contribute to a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
  • Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging participation and creativity.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status: You must hold QTS, with a specialism in Drama or Performing Arts.
  • Passion for Drama: Enthusiasm for teaching drama and a desire to inspire students to express themselves creatively.
  • Experience Teaching Drama: Previous experience teaching drama at the secondary level is desirable, though applications from newly qualified teachers are welcome.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to engage and motivate students, while working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers.
  • Organisational Skills: The ability to plan, manage, and deliver lessons and extra-curricular activities effectively.
