Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our client's team in the North East. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering a variety of schemes throughout the UK.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years' experience in the UK construction industry and will be able to act as Technical Lead on projects large and small. You will be responsible for reviewing documents, designs, and drawings to ensure consistent high quality and compliance with design standards, industry best practice, contractual obligations, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects, providing support, mentoring, and guidance to less experienced colleagues
  • Take initiative and manage your own workload/deadlines
  • Review documents, designs, and drawings to ensure consistent high quality and compliance
  • Carry out structural engineering assessments and inspections of new and existing properties
  • Undertake analysis and design using software packages such as Tekla Structural Designer and FastTrack Building Designer
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, including structural surveys
  • Ensure quality and consistency of technical output (drawings, reports, etc.)

Requirements

  • Chartered or near Chartered Engineer
  • Varied experience in all common forms of construction and building types
  • Experience in the use of Eurocodes
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and numerical skills
  • Experience of structural analysis, design, and software essential
