Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Compliance Specialist to join our Research Integrity and Compliance Office (RICO) team at the University of Southampton. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the University's research is compliant with UK legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Compliance and Regulatory Support: Provide expert advice and guidance to researchers on compliance matters, including export control, national security, and human tissue regulations.
  2. Relationship Management: Foster and manage relationships with academic staff to promote a culture of research integrity and compliance.
  3. Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to ensure researchers understand and adhere to compliance requirements.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with governmental stakeholders, including the Export Control Joint Unit and the Investment Security Unit, to ensure compliance with regulations.
  5. Integrity Case Management: Assist in overseeing integrity cases under the University's procedure for investigating cases of alleged misconduct in research.
  6. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the RICO team to promote a culture of research integrity and compliance across the University.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification in a field such as compliance, regulatory affairs, or governance.
  • Experience in compliance, regulatory activities, integrity, or governance.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to succeed in a collaborative team environment.
