Surrey, United Kingdom With You Full time

Position Overview

Are you a certified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner eager to contribute to a mission-driven charity that prioritizes mental health and champions clinical excellence at step 2?

WithYou is a prominent national charity dedicated to providing evidence-based assistance for mental health, substance use, and family services throughout the UK. We are committed to making a significant impact on individuals' lives by offering complimentary therapy to those in need. This position is for a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner within our Surrey Talking Therapies service.

In this role, you will deliver high-volume, low-intensity interventions focused on self-management strategies for clients experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression, while upholding confidentiality at all times. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including conducting patient-centered interviews, staying informed on new guidelines and recommendations, and overseeing the recruitment and onboarding of new PWPs. A crucial aspect of this position involves providing case management for both qualified and trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, collaborating closely with team members to ensure effective step-up and step-down processes are in place to maintain a stepped care model. You will also be tasked with assessing the suitability of services for new referrals, adhering to established referral protocols, and ensuring the service remains accessible by disseminating information appropriately.

Benefits of the Role

To support our Senior PWPs in achieving their full potential, we proudly offer the following:

  • Comprehensive clinical and case management supervision, including four weekly reflective practice groups and additional ad hoc supervision, exceeding the National Talking Therapies recommended guidelines.
  • A supportive Step 2 Clinical Lead team that advocates for clinical excellence and integrates therapists' insights into service improvements.
  • Access to a high-quality in-house monthly CPD program covering various topics, including key PWP interventions and working with clients from neurodivergent and LGBTQI+ communities.
  • Opportunities for career advancement, such as training in Long-Term Conditions or PWP Supervisor roles, becoming a Champion, or applying for positions like Step 2 Manager or Step 2 Clinical Lead.
  • Participation in interface meetings with Secondary Care services to enhance the client journey.
  • Coverage of annual BABCP registration fees as an added benefit.
  • Consideration of flexible working arrangements to accommodate personal responsibilities.

Commitment to Diversity

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices and experiences of our staff. We recognize that reflecting the communities we serve is essential to achieving our goals of significantly improving lives. We welcome unique contributions and encourage applications from underrepresented communities, including individuals with lived experience, disabilities, those from racialized communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and armed forces veterans.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess training in CBT-based low-intensity interventions and hold BABCP or BPS accreditation (or be eligible for accreditation). We seek individuals with prior experience in conducting mental health assessments and working with clients facing anxiety and depression within a Talking Therapies framework. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with demonstrated leadership capabilities, are essential. Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not mandatory, as we will support the successful candidate in obtaining the necessary training.

  • An extra day off for your birthday or a special occasion of your choice.
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.
  • Two days of paid volunteer leave each year.
  • Automatic enrollment in WithYou's pension scheme.
  • Access to a Blue Light Card, providing significant savings on popular high-street and online brands.
  • Flexible working opportunities and access to various services and resources to support your well-being.
  • An excellent Refer a Friend scheme offering a £500 bonus for successful recommendations, applicable after the referred friend completes their six-month probation period.

Additional Information

This position will primarily be home-based, with travel required within Surrey for in-person client work, team training, and meetings. Successful candidates will need to provide three years of references and, where applicable, undergo an enhanced DBS check.
