About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at IDEX Corporation. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in maintaining and advising on health and safety legislation, promoting a positive health and safety culture, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Promote and work with managers to determine safe working practices, ensuring that all service areas have suitable and sufficient risk assessments for their operations and activities.
  2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and new legislative requirements relating to health and safety issues, interpreting, evaluating, and advising management on the implications of such legislation on service delivery.
  3. Undertake planned health and safety audits and workplace inspections, as well as ad-hoc site visits and inspections of any OTE workplace, operation, or activity to audit compliance with regulations and procedures.
  4. Liaise closely with the HR team and Managers regarding matters of concern in connection with specialist risk assessments and training and support requirements.
  5. Ensure general administration of the Health and Safety service is carried out in an accurate and timely manner.
  6. Maintain, review, and revise first-aid arrangements, organizing appropriate training as necessary.
  7. Co-ordinate quarterly Site (CVI Infrared) Health and Safety Committee meetings and provide advice and support to the Health and Safety Committee.
  8. Provide support, advise, and facilitate training on employer's and employees' health and safety responsibilities, including induction and assorted Health and Safety awareness training.
  9. Carry out investigations of all incidents and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
  10. Ensure the Employee and Site protection registers are maintained and disseminated as required.
  11. Co-ordinate and administer programmes for Health Surveillance and Screening.
  12. Provide a direct input in the event of an emergency. Assist and administer the Emergency Planning function.
  13. Co-ordinate Safety Advisory Group meetings and provide advice and support to event organisers when appropriate.
