Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Product Safety Engineer to join our team in Coventry. As a key member of our Engineering Delivery Manager team, you will be responsible for the development, delivery, and maintenance of the Project Product Safety Management System and Product Safety Case.


As a Principal Product Safety Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and expertise in the field of product safety, ensuring that our products meet the highest safety standards. You will work closely with our engineering teams to develop and implement safety management processes, and will be responsible for the creation of safety cases and justification reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading the derivation and management of Product Safety requirements derived from Product Safety hazard and risk identification
  • Working in accordance with Project Safety Management Plans
  • Influencing the development of a safe design, the Project Safety Case including logical technical safety arguments and Safety Case justification reports
  • Supporting hazard identification meetings and the maintenance of the project hazard log
  • Completing peer reviews, checking, verification and assurance tasks to demonstrate the adequacy and robustness of the Safety Case and supporting documentation

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of engineering safety management processes, including hazard analysis, logical safety arguments, and safety case reports. You will also need to have previous experience creating justification reports and a reasonable understanding of safety within systems engineering.


Desirable skills include experience with systems engineering tools and techniques, such as DOORS and Enterprise Architect, and familiarity with JIRA.
