About the Role

As a Senior Tax Manager, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance to senior management on tax-related issues. You will oversee all areas of tax for HSBC Innovation Banking, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting for local and global tax obligations. Your expertise will be invaluable in addressing European tax risks and developing tax compliance and risk management policies in alignment with Group standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to senior management on tax-related issues
  • Oversee all areas of tax for HSBC Innovation Banking
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting for local and global tax obligations
  • Develop and implement tax compliance and risk management policies in alignment with Group standards
  • Address European tax risks associated with the wider Innovation Banking business
  • Lead on tax matters, influencing decisions by stakeholders and providing consistent risk management solutions
  • Ensure management understands the tax implications of business operations and make recommendations for improvement
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration on tax issues and ensure effective implementation of tax-related recommendations
  • Maintain efficient tax risk management and compliance models, managing internal and external assurance programs
Requirements

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced tax professional who can bring their expertise to our team. You must be a Qualified tax professional (Chartered Accountant, Tax specialist, Doctor of Laws or equivalent) with a proven track record of corporate, international and operational tax knowledge and experience. In-house tax experience, preferably gained in another Financial Services institution, is highly desirable.
