We are seeking a dedicated Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to enhance our vibrant Women's Health Services Department. This role is integral to our Acute Patient Access and Clinical Support Services.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will:
- Contribute to the obstetric rota at our facility.
- Utilize formal training and experience in advanced Labour Ward Practice, including major abdominal surgery.
- Support the Gynae oncology lead and improve Suspected Gynaecological Cancer Pathways.
- Demonstrate a skill mix that fosters departmental growth and development.
- Run rapid access clinics and operate independently, with initial surgical support as needed.
- Manage general gynaecology and hysteroscopy clinics.
- Participate in the Labour ward Rota, covering both Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- Engage in undergraduate teaching initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Advanced Training in Labour Ward Practice.
- Experience in major abdominal surgery, including laparoscopic techniques.
- Relevant colposcopy qualifications or evidence of training progress.
- Clinical training in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology equivalent to UK CCST standards.
- Exceptional practical skills across the full spectrum of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- Leadership capabilities to drive service enhancements and quality improvements.
- Active involvement in quality improvement and service redesign initiatives.
- Formal training in teaching and education.
This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, necessitating a Disclosure submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service for any previous criminal convictions.
