As a Production Support Specialist at Pilgrim's Europe, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines. Your primary responsibility will be to move product and packaging from storage to production as required for the completion of orders.
You will work closely with our team of operatives and supervisory staff to ensure effective liaison, team working, and interaction. This role requires you to be a team player, with excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail.
The job involves extensive periods of standing and repetitive movements, and you will be required to work in a temperature-controlled area. The shift pattern is A Shift - Spiral - 223, with varying days and hours.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that hygiene and health and safety procedures are always followed.
- Adhering to the allergen procedure and ensuring that allergens and other ingredients are segregated correctly.
- Ensuring that product is taken to the line ready to fulfill orders following the production schedule.
- Monitoring the quality of the product and liaising with QA when appropriate.
- Calculating throughputs and ensuring correct product and packaging is obtained for the product being run.
- Minimizing wastage of product or materials and recording incidents.
- Ensuring manual pallet wheels are clean and well maintained.
- Passing on relevant information and documentation to the incoming shift.
- Ensuring all flesh, ingredients, and packaging are removed from the line and placed in correct storage at the end of production.
- Maintaining packaging, ingredient, and flesh traceability through adequate labeling.
- Ensuring ingredients, packaging, and flesh are covered when not in use to minimize contamination risk.
- Weighing product or flesh correctly following company procedures.
- Maintaining all paperwork and passing on relevant information to the oncoming shift.
- Shutting down designated process machinery in the event of a fire alarm.
